There are many outstanding beaches on the Isle of Tiree, however, this beach known as Traigh Chornaig is arguably the finest where on a fine spring or summer’s day turquoise water meets white shell sand making it an idyllic location that’s hard to beat. Catch it on a quiet day it is a tranquil paradise broken only by the cry of Oyster Catchers, breaking waves and the odd lamb bleating for its Mum.

The township lies to the north west of the island, it’s a place where sheep and cows graze on buttercups wandering freely through a landscape dotted with white cottages and thatched blackhouses all merged with impossibly coloured machair during spring and summer that add delight to this beautiful location. The name comes from Baile a Mhuillin, the Village of the Mill.

Both the village and the beach are really special places.
